About the Role: Lead Platform Engineer
As the Lead Platform Engineer, you will help drive the direction of the company’s client-facing technology platforms with your proven programming, software architecture, and infrastructure management expertise. You will be a key player in a small but dynamic technology group, responsible for maintaining and expanding upon the company’s Java and PHP code base, providing oversight and management of a small AWS infrastructure, and guiding the product roadmap from requirements through development and deployment. You will also work closely with our Operations and IT client delivery teams to brainstorm ad hoc project solutions using existing third-party technologies as well as developing new tools. This is a remote position.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
Experience with all stages of Agile software development lifecycle
Strong Java and PHP development skills
Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2 and RDS
Experience with multi-threaded, object-oriented software design and development
Strong background in web application development and understanding of UX principles
Ability to think critically and use strong problem-solving skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
A team-oriented personality with the initiative to accomplish goals
