Full Job Description
The main responsibility of the Infrastructure Services Manager is to provide leadership and mentorship to the groups of engineers responsible for database and middleware platforms and services. You will direct the activities of these teams in alignment with organizational priorities and timelines. You will ensure these shared platforms are performant, highly available, and ready to accommodate current and future technical requirements. The shared platform teams are responsible for regularly collaborating with infrastructure teams and application development/support teams, translating business and technical requirements into robust, reliable technical solutions.
A mix of strong technical, communication, and leadership skills are key to the success of this role.Key Responsibilities:Experience leading teams responsible for database platforms, such as DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, AWS RDS SQL Server, AWS Redshift, MongoDB, Couchbase, and others.Experience leading teams responsible for "middleware" platforms, such as Tibco, IBM MQ, Automic/UC4, OpenShift, Docker, Ansible, Apache, Tomcat, file transfer, and others.Utilize knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and application platforms to recommend and facilitate system improvements and/or re-engineering efforts in both traditional on-prem and public cloud technology environments.Build, communicate, and maintain technical strategy plans and implementation progress in areas of responsibility. For example: technology roadmaps, cloud migration, gap analysis, cost/benefit analysis, etc.Design and execute strategies and methodologies for cloud adoption, migration, deployment, monitoring, and support.Develop and maintain relationships with business partners and IT teams to communicate and promote available technologies that meet business needs.Assist in other critical job functions as required, including but not limited to Business Continuity / Recovery, Availability, and Problem Management.Deliver technology, tools, and architecture for disaster recovery solutions for business-critical systems.Collaborate with business partners and IT teams, providing consistent communication on infrastructure changes, upgrades, etc.Act as a project manager as necessary for team projects. Forecast and monitor project budget, scope, schedule, progress, and risks including timely communication to internal and external project partners.Align IT technologies to complement and support the operation of the business. Keep abreast of new technologies and drive alignment of the application/domain roadmap with the overall IT roadmap and strategy.Support the preparation of cost/effort estimates for internal and external work.Ensure IT systems are security compliant with most recent FINRA, NIST, ISO and other security standardsRequirements:Minimum 5 years of management or team leadership experience with shared infrastructure platforms.Minimum 10 years of experience in a corporate Information Technology environment.Management experience with DBA and/or Middleware functions.Experience with public cloud adoption, migration, and management.Familiarity with Scaled Agile and Kanban / Scrum processes and methodology.Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability and willingness to adapt to changeWe will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment.
