OVERVIEW
The Accountant-Foundation Liaison is responsible for possessing of accounting information to include but not limited to month end and year end close process, general ledger balance sheet and expense account reconciliations, audit preparation assistance, and journal entry preparation. Specific job assignments include: preparing rent billings for both hospital and non-hospital department tenants, maintaining the real estate management system, recording intercompany transactions, and serving as the primary accountant for the Baptist Healthcare Foundation. This position is responsible for a number of Lawson systems and other financial software packages.

The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with preference given to an Accounting degree.
Two (2) years’ experience in a professional setting.
Demonstrated comprehension of accounting, financial and information system principles with substantial knowledge of business concepts.
Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively utilize a personal computer with Intermediate skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Experience with Lawson Accounting systems is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
Detail oriented, with a willingness and desire to work with and through others to accomplish departmental and organizational goals.
