The Life Center currently has full-time openings for 12-Hour shifts from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. or 6 p.m.-6 a.m. and does include every other weekend and holiday rotation.
The Life Center is seeking RNs and LPNs to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals in providing excellent resident centered care.
The Life Center offers different levels of care including Skilled rehab / short term post acute care, long term care, hospice care and Alzheimer’s / dementia care. This facility does not operate an assisted living facility or an independent living facility.
Applicants should hold an active license in the practice of nursing in the State of Iowa.
Individuals interested in this position should be team oriented and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Job duties will include but are not limited to:
- Dispensing medications following the 5 rights of medication administration while adhering to physician orders
- Daily assessment of residents
- Phlebotomy and Skilled Nursing education and knowledge
- Interpretation of laboratory data and communicating pertinent data to the physician
- Processing orders received from the physician (Fax, telephone, verbal and physician written orders)
- Documentation of all care activities in the electronic health record while strictly adhering to HIPAA regualtions
- Auditing medication carts, medication rooms, treatment carts, and medications and nursing supplies for proper storage and disposal of expired supplies
- Providing direction and supervision for Certified nursing assistants and certified medication assistants in a professional manner
- Communication with the physician
- Communication with the pharmacy
- Communication with residents and their families regarding condition or treatment changes while operating within the goals of care for each individual resident
- Admission assessments of new residents
- Providing and maintaining a safe environment for residents and staff
- Assisting with other nursing duties as directed by the Nursing Director or their designee

Requirements:
-Valid RN or LPN Education and Licensing in the state of Iowa.
-Valid CPR Certification or willingness to obtain.
-Ability to read and communicate in English.
-Ability to work a rotating schedule including weekend and holiday hours as scheduled.
-Possess critical thinking skills and leadership skills in a calm and professional manner.
-Team oriented and fosters a culture of inclusion and equity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to provide compassionate and dignified care to residents with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail is essential.
