Summary:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, The Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and support to project management teams, ensuring that client needs are met in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to design, review, and improve mechanical systems, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and aligned with industry standards. The Project Engineer plays a key role in ensuring project success from conception through to completion.
Job Scope and Tasks:
- Collaborate with project managers to understand client requirements and translate them into effective mechanical engineering solutions.
- Design, develop, and analyze mechanical systems and components for various projects, ensuring alignment with industry standards and client specifications.
- Provide technical support during project planning and execution phases to ensure that all mechanical systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to verify the integrity and efficiency of designs.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies, related to mechanical design and project execution.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Assist in the selection and procurement of mechanical components and systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with external contractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure project timelines and goals are met.
- Write inspection reports based on field documents, photos, and diagrams.
- Participate in regular project meetings, providing engineering insight and ensuring alignment between engineering and project management goals.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of mechanical systems, recommending improvements or modifications as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement of mechanical systems.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within construction, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience in project support and working within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with regulatory codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API) applicable to mechanical systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft office programs

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to various stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and industry standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and the ability to ensure compliance with all regulatory and client requirements.
- Proficiency in engineering design tools and software, with the ability to produce accurate technical drawings and documents.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate engineering concepts to non-technical personnel.
