Position: District Sales Manager

Location: Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia

Hours: 1st shift

Reports to: Director of Sales & Business Development – East Central Region

Job Summary: Responsible for the promotion of sales and revenue growth of NORD Gear products within a specific geographic market.

Responsibilities include:
Create sales territory plan and set sales goals and objectives accordingly.
Win new business for NORD through conversion of target accounts.
Prepare and conduct sales presentations of NORD’s capabilities and products to new and existing customers.
Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend products.
Negotiate and establish price and terms in accordance with standard procedures.
Prepare and communicate quotations to customers.
Respond to customer inquiries and ensure customer satisfaction.
Utilize CRM per the standard work guidelines for sales.
Remain current on product and industry knowledge by attending sales meetings, internal and external training, reading sales manuals, books or trade journals.
Prepare and plan sales calls weekly.
Submit expense reports timely as required.
Demonstrate and instruct customers on product installation and use of maintenance as required.
Document benefits and cost savings to customers.
Communicate customer concerns to management as appropriate.
Assist in expediting customer orders and resolving customer payables when required.
Determine sales potential for new and existing customers through inquiry, observation or periodic research.
Follow-up on potential sales leads.
Analyze customer’s strengths and weaknesses to assist in determining sales potential.
Analyze competitor’s strategies to determine strengths and weaknesses.
Monitor market trends and notify management of opportunities for new products.

Job Requirements:
4 year college degree in Engineering strongly preferred
Previous experience in gearbox sales preferred
Have a demonstrated ability to learn technical knowledge associated with Industrial Power Transmission products and be very detailed-oriented
Strong communication and computer skills
Industrial Distribution or power transmission experience is a plus
Electronic Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) or Automation Controls experience desirable
Ability to relocate to the Western PA/West Virginia area
