Asian Pacific Counseling & Treatment Centers is a division of Special Service for Groups (SSG) and was the very first mental health center in Los Angeles County specifically developed to meet the unique needs of rapidly growing numbers of API immigrants and refugees who were in need of a wide range of mental health services.

SSG-APCTC is seeking a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is bilingual in an API language (Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, etc) and who has experience working in an intensive outpatient program with adults and older adults with persistent mental illness. The Licensed Clinician will provide Program Coordination under our Full Service Partnership (FSP) Program.

Essential Functions :

  • Coordinate and maintain a high quality of care of all clients in FSP program.
  • Provide training to FSP staff on current FSP policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Provide training and monitor the completion of outcome measures.
  • Facilitate authorization of FSP referrals and cases through coordination with FSP staff, SSG Alliance, hospitals and other agencies.
  • Review, track and assign FSP referrals. Maintain own FSP caseload.
  • Assist FSP staff with Outreach and Engagement of new FSP clients.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call supervisory coverage to FSP staff, including field-based crisis intervention and initiating involuntary hospitalizations.
  • Provide clinical consultation to the FSP treatment team and other service providers.
  • Facilitate FSP team meetings to address critical issues, coordination of care, teamwork development, and FSP-related reports.
  • Attend FSP-related meetings, including DMH FSP Impact meetings and collaborative team meetings.
  • Coordinate any DMH FSP site visits or audits with SSG and site managers.
  • Work with program manager in managing revenue, program development and staff hiring.
  • Assume a key role in quality management activities by reviewing case records and providing staff training as needed.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • California license to practice as a LCSW or LMFT
  • Minimum two-year experience working with adults and older adults in a mental health setting. Experience providing FSP or similar intensive mental health services preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication, leadership and organizational skills required
  • Ability to speak one of the Asian languages (such as Cambodian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino or Vietnamese) preferred
  • Computer Literacy – ability to use MS Office, Outlook, Power Point and any other programs relevant to perform duties
  • Must have a valid California driver license, auto insurance and reliable transportation

Skills:

We are recruiting candidates who have a passion working or wanting experience in the mental health field, who want to help under-served populations, candidates who are comfortable with field work in the Metropolitan Los Angeles area and are comfortable working with adults and older adults with persistent mental illness. The candidate must be able to work independently in the field, manage their time efficiently, able to communicate effectively with their treatment team, supervisors and managers, willing to take initiative, be persistent and eager to learn.
