The Account Manager National Accounts role, Boston / NE US based, will have accountability for driving sales within new and assigned accounts and will work with various internal teams and stakeholders to formulate sales strategies and tactics to support our business goals. This is a key sales position reporting to the Sr. Vice President Sales - Grocery at Richelieu Foods Inc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for driving growth, share and sales across all assigned accounts in the grocery channel, including Loblaws and Ahold/Delhaize.
Works with SVP Sales to develop a comprehensive sales plan to meet/exceed market sales goals for each product in a profitable manner in line with the Company’s strategies and brand plans.
Develops strategic business relationships with key buying influencers within our customer partners to achieve goals.
Maintain a high level of competitor knowledge in terms of products, pricing, discounts, promotions and sales levels.
Leads & participates in presentations, negotiations, sales meetings, and trade shows with key external & internal stakeholders.
Present new products, sales programs and materials and sales ideas to customers
Develops lasting relationships with existing customers, and creates new relationships.
Maintain goodwill with assigned accounts, checking on customer satisfaction with our customer service and product quality. Solves customer problems in relation to our categories and products.
Monitor customer pricing and recommend pricing updates when appropriate
Utilize syndicated data, customer sales data and category management studies to provide fact based analysis and deliver business building initiatives.
Understands trends, demographic information, competitive and market research data and consumer insights to drive sales within our industry.
Collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop Richelieu Foods marketing strategies, as well as providing input in developing innovative products..
Proactively builds strong, collaborative relationships with other members of the Richelieu team including operations and finance teams and effectively interacts with the senior management team of the Company.
Ensure the completion of daily and weekly reports that are both timely and accurate.
Maintain updated customer information files.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the grocery channel. Direct or brokerage sales, on a regional basis.
Loblaws sales experience preferred
Strong record of accomplishment in developing brand and private label food or consumer packaged goods.
Basic supply chain experience.
Bachelor’s degree required - Marketing or Business Management preferred.
Ability and willingness to travel regionally 35% of the time.
