Join Team BPS and be an administrator in Brevard! Sunrise Elementary in Palm Bay is actively seeking an dynamic and experienced Elementary School Assistant Principal for the current 2023-2024 school year.
Elementary school assistant principals assist teachers and the principal in providing a dynamic setting for learning for all students. Assistant principals coordinate all aspects of elementary curriculum, coordinate faculty, year-level and individual teacher’s planning, assist teachers in interpreting and implementing the district’s curriculum, and recommend curriculum adjustments to meet the special learning needs of individual children.
Assistant Principal Requirements:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited educational institution
- Successful completion, or completion within one year of appointment, of the Leadership Awareness Training Program
- Minimum of three (3) years’ successful teaching experience
- Certified in, or eligible for, an academic or vocational area by the State of Florida
- Certified in Educational Leadership, Administration and Supervision or Administration by the State of Florida

Let's talk about compensation: Last November, Brevard County voters showed their support for Brevard Public Schools by approving a millage increase with the revenue being used to increase employee compensation, student programs, and technology. The millage will last for four years unless extended by voters. This millage supplement is based on years working within Brevard Public Schools. For someone new to BPS, the supplement will be approximately $5,448 (if started working in August; it will be prorated if one starts work later).
