The GW School of Business (GWSB), one of ten schools within the GWU system, offers business education on the undergraduate and graduate levels. The F. David Fowler Career Center (FDFCC) supports business school students in their pursuit of employment while in school and upon graduation. The mission of the FDFCC is to support students and alumni in developing life-long career management skills and facilitate the building of partnerships among students, alumni, employers and faculty.
To accomplish its mission, the FDFCC is seeking an Event Planner to manage career related events and activities from start to finish, working with internal and external partners. The core responsibilities of this role are to plan and coordinate all aspects of career events (career fairs, employer site visits and other events that arise); conferences and meetings (pre-planning, onsite execution and post event wrap up); to lead students, volunteers and event support positions; to provide coordination and project management to ensure event success; and to manage event details such as room setup, students’, alumni and employers’ experience and day-of management. This role also plans and manages budgets; negotiates with vendors; and manages other logistics, such as surveys and processing of final invoices; alumni/employer outreach, database management and use of various software and programs.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
