Located in Taunton, MA, Ohlson has designed and manufactured quality automatic and semi-automatic net weighing and counting machines for 50 years. The product portfolio includes combination and linear weighers, vertical baggers, pouch machines, bucket elevators, rotary tables, supply hoppers and more. The company has built its business on a developed system that reduces its customers' labor time, decreases square footage required for packaging and increases shelf life of perishable products through modified atmosphere packaging.

We are looking for experienced welders who can meticulously weld thin Stainless Steel using both MIG and TIG.

Position Summary.

The welder will use welding techniques to build Stainless Steel packaging machinery, and use their knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. The welder will use their knowledge of design techniques involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Will use mathematics to solve problems pertaining to welding functions, and manage how much time is used on a project. The welder will perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Will also convey information effectively so that the job can be completed in the appropriate manner.

Essential Responsibilities

Operates safety equipment and uses safe work habits while performing the job function.
Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc.
Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials.
Will lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
Recognize, set up, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
Travel not usually required, but may on occasion.
Must have flexible schedule including some weekends.
Position Requirements

Pre-Employment Verifications: Must satisfactorily pass weld test, background, reference checks and post-offer drug screen
Experience: 2 years' experience Blue Print Reading.
Must have 2 years' experience with gas metal arc welding (GMAW) gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW)

Physical and Environmental Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for a minimum of 8 or more hours per day. The employee is frequently required to grasp, handle and feel objects, control and manage tools, and use hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The position is first shift, $20-$28/hr depending on experience and has a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability and 401k.
