Position Summary: The Athletic Events and Facilities Intern will primarily focus on athletic facility and event management for the University of Colorado Boulder. This position will be responsible for the daily supervision and maintenance of athletic facilities; including event preparation and event management.
This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department’s Mission Statement, Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, the PAC 12 Conference and NCAA.
Event manager of Track and Field (Indoor and Outdoor)
Assistant event manager for Women’s Soccer and Women’s Lacrosse
Primary liaison for CU Event Center visiting teams to include developing of manuals, coordination of practices and communicating with visiting team personnel
Maintain and prepare athletic facilities for all events, including intercollegiate, campus and special events
Coordinates outside events at the CU Events Center, Prentup Field, Potts Field, Kittredge Field and the South Campus Tennis Complex
Organizes student staffing program, including the hiring, training and scheduling of student staff. Supervise students during events to assist, set-up facility and complete tasks throughout event
Assists with sport camps and clinics as assigned
Primary contact for facility tours at all CU athletic venues
Provide help with daily operation of the entire Athletic Events and Facilities unit
Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant AD – CU Events Center and Game Day Ops
Ability to work evening and weekend hours, and potentially holidays
1-2 years of experience in collegiate athletic facilities and operations
1 year of student supervisory experience
Salary Information: $13/hour, plus overtime eligible
Interns are not eligible for paid moving expenses, paid vacation or benefits. Position will not last longer than 9 months. 40 hour work weeks will be combined with regular office hours and game days.
