In this position, the Project Manager in Product Development, reporting to the Creative and Product Development Director, functions as a central resource with design, sourcing, quality, test, marketing and sales, as the products move through their lifecycle. He/she will be responsible for financial analysis and acting as a liaison amongst multiple departments to maximize financial return of products throughout their lifecycles.

The Project Manager in Product Development manages the design, modification and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products and is responsible for broad range of analytical functions and optimization of corporate use of analytics tools. The individual in this role MUST be able to travel overseas (i.e. Indonesia. India, etc.) up to 4 weeks in a year, to liaise with the factories or attend trade fair.

PRIMARY ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Project management of product development processes

Liaises amongst Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and other departments as it pertains to inventory and product development, product strategy and roadmap as well as it pertains to projects, which includes leading scheduled meetings to discuss/ensure calendar deadlines are met.
Manages and tracks the end to end process of development (concept to market) which includes product concept, development, incorporating price, sample review, quality inspection, testing, packaging, labeling, SKU creation, and delivery requirements.
Establishes and maintains time-lines for projects to ensure calendar deadlines are met.
Develops and maintains strategic relationships with vendors and partners as well as maintains quality communications.

Ensures quality communications as well as troubleshoot product development issues.
Continually looks at pricing, quality and service for constant improvement.
Assists in the review of existing and the identification of new product sources.
Develops and maintains relationships with Fortessa of Asia office and suppliers as it pertains to product development

Ensures clear, quality communications with vendors on projects which may include detailed instruction on projects and thorough follow-up on projects.
Assists in the review of existing and the identification of new product sources.
Develops a clear understanding of Fortessa Tableware Solutions brands

Develops and understands the relation of brands as they pertain to each business unit
Develops an understanding of how brands relate to product and how the product is marketed.
Maintains a strong understanding of industry competition.

Keeps senior management team apprised of product opportunities, progress and risks.

Manages product lifecycle in order to optimize product introductions, revisions, modifications, enhancements and retirements.

Troubleshoots product quality and continuity of supply issues.

Coordinates the review of existing and the identification of new product sources.

Creates and manages item part numbers, SKUS and corresponding data in Sage 300 system.

Communicates with department stakeholders to collect product details in order to ensure part number database is complete and accurate.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum 5-7 years Project Management / Product Development experience.
Ability to travel internationally and domestically, as required.
Ability to communicate complex information to executive management, sales, services, partners and customers.
Strong customer service and teamwork skills. Professional demeanor to maintain and enhance relationships.
Consistently works with abstract ideas or situations across functional areas of the business.
Assesses, identifies and evaluates fundamental issues, providing strategy and direction for major functional area. Requires in-depth knowledge of the functional area, business strategies, and the company's goals.
Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills.
Excellent analytical skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language.
