Job Description:
Under general supervision, the Proofreader is
responsible for the accuracy of the content and
registered trademark of the Michaels brand for all
collateral pieces. This position supports multiple
client projects. Oral and written communication skills
along with a solid command of the English Language
including style, spelling/grammar, punctuation, tone and
voice are mandatory. This position requires a highly
motivated flexible individual.
  • Coordinate and validate multi-channel accuracy of
all materials with Graphic Designers, Project
Designers, Ad Specialists, Category Management and
other internal partners. Materials include copy
decks, final circular layouts, signage, direct mail,
social media, magazine and other collateral
  • Thoroughly examine all documents for text variance,
style and deviations for the Michaels style as well
as compliant with all legal requirements. Ensures
that Canadian materials are compliant with Canadian
  • Review documents of both standard and moderately
technical nature for grammatical, mathematical,
typographical and compositional errors. Help
establish and maintain Michaels branding rules by
keeping the style guide up-to-date and distribution.
  • Write, edit, maintain, distribute and verify legal
copy and disclaimers with Legal, outside Agency
partners, Marketing and internal buying units.
  • Verify, validate and communicate pricing grid
structure and errors to ad team and agency partners.

B.A. degree or equivalent experience

Knowledge of proofing marks, processes and procedures,

2 years
