This Coin Vault Attendant is responsible for the retrieval, transport, counting of vault, wrapping of coins, exchanging coin for currency for all Toll Collectors and all Booth Locations. This position is will entail working a combination of indoor and outdoor work environment, subject to weather conditions. Crossing traffic lanes safely requires good mobility, vision and hearing to be alert to traffic conditions. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings and nights and weekends and holidays. This is an outdoor position.

Pay is $14 per hour.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proficiently operate the Department’s toll collection equipment according to procedure.
  • Pull Vaults from ramps and tunnel on a daily basis. Determine when vaults are empty and which vaults are to be used and prepare vaults for inspection.
  • Track the vaults that have been inserted and removed from housings, complete vault pull sheets, acquire signatures and verification of appropriate shift supervisor.
  • Count / wrap all coins that have been collected.
  • Complete, verify and sin related paperwork for daily collected revenue. Ensure all forms are audited, signed and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure all toll booth locations are adequately supplied with sufficient coins.
  • Report problem locations to operational staff and CRO.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED.

  • Successfully pass English, math and cash calculation tests.
  • Required to possess and maintain a current/valid driver’s license in the DMV area.
  • Required availability to work weekend hours based on business needs.
  • Ability to safely walk across toll lanes while fully elevating and extending arm closest to oncoming traffic to ‘shoulder blade height’ in a ‘stop motion’ (arm extended with palm held out) to signal oncoming traffic and while carrying work related items (i.e. tour funds, cash draw, safety related items, etc. . .) in the other arm.
  • Ability to walk long distances.
  • Ability to determine vehicle classification by visual inspection.
  • Ability to handle money and make change.
  • Cash handling experience on a computerized system.

Ability to communicate orally with management, co-workers, and customers is crucial.

Standing for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to interact with customers.

Heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 75 lbs. is required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines.

Sensory Requirements

Some tasks require oral communications ability and visual perception and discrimination.

Environmental Factors

The job is performed outdoors. Activities include extended periods of standing and extensive work at a computer monitor and/or calculator.

Final candidates for this position will need to successfully complete drug screening and a background investigation, which may include a criminal and credit check along with DMV.
