SAP Leonardo Machine Learning is a strategic innovation entity within SAP, combining software engineering excellence with thought leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. Machine Learning enables computers to learn from large amounts of data without being explicitly programmed. The world's most relevant enterprise data is part of SAP's system and business network. SAP aspires to make all its enterprise solutions intelligent and help customers leverage their data.
As an intern for the SAP Leonardo Machine Learning Business Network team, you will work together with a team of dedicated experts including researchers, developers, dev-ops engineers, and architects with a single goal of building the best machine learning pipelines for a variety of use cases spanning commerce, financial markets, procurement, and more. You will work against fixed timelines and your success will be measured by the ability to deliver solutions matching the performance of top-notch research prototypes.
What you’ll do:
Position Title: SAP iXp Intern - Leonardo Machine Learning Data Scientist
Location: Palo Alto, CA
Expected start date to end date: June 10, 2019 – August 16, 2019
In this role, you’ll:
Closely work with partners and production teams to deliver end-to-end machine learning solutions from data collection and model design to model deployment.
Work with the richest enterprise data sets addressing real-world problems.
Implement and experiment with state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms in collaboration with our data scientists to support different industries in the SAP ecosystem.
Participate in projects in the area of prediction, optimization, and processes using advanced statistical / mathematical approaches, in the enterprise environment.
Learn how to design the best architecture and select the most appropriate modeling techniques and data visualization for big data analysis.
Gain experience in hands-on software development.
Iteratively test, refine, and improve machine learning models.
Who you are:
We’re looking for someone who can challenge the status quo and likes to stay curious. You enjoy working on meaningful projects and are energized by lifelong learning.
Current student working towards a Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related topic.
Solid background in Machine Learning, preferred knowledge in one of the following areas: Transfer Learning, Multi-task Learning, Weakly Supervised Learning, Automatic Machine Learning
Willingness to learn and work with a team.
Ability to approach problems in an innovative way with an open-mind.
Experience in statistical modeling, machine learning, or data mining.
Experience in SQL, relational databases, and database concepts.
Proficient in one or more programming languages, such as Python.
Applied knowledge in deep learning frameworks, such as Tensorflow, Pytorch etc.
Knowledge in Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval preferred.
Must be able to work onsite in Palo Alto, CA.
