Full Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Senior Accountant to join our office in Reston, Virginia. Applicants selected must be willing and able to obtain a Security Clearance; therefore, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Process AP Invoices and weekly AP payments for multiple organizations.
Prepare and code AMEX transaction schedules to upload into accounting system.
Process Expense Reports through Concur Expense Pay, following GSA travel guidelines.
Review expenses monthly to ensure accruals are accurate.
Prepare reports for SOX requirements.
Prepare local sales tax, property tax filings and annual 1099 filings.
Assist in tax registrations in new states as needed.
Prepare monthly journal entries.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
Provide support to other areas accounting, including Leases, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
Support annual financial and SOX audits.
BS/BA degree in accounting.
3-5 years accounting experience preferred in general accounting, including areas of Accounts Payable and General Ledger and the month end close cycle.
Exhibit positive and professional demeanor. Discretion is extremely important.
Ability to work well with a small team.
Exercise ability to effectively communicate issues, concerns, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to personnel.
Ability to multi-task and flexibility in working in different areas of accounting as business needs change.
Costpoint experience preferred.
