Financial Analyst (Staff Accountant)

The Financial Analyst will be a member of the Financial Reporting team in a fast-paced, growing chemicals, fibers and plastics manufacturing company. This role will be responsible for a variety of regular and recurring accounting functions including preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and various monthly reports in accordance with US GAAP. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical skills, enjoy a challenging work environment and the opportunity to exercise initiative, be self-motivated, and demonstrate an aptitude to proactively find solutions.


Perform daily and monthly reconciliation and analysis on cash related accounts and investigate any reconciling items
Responsible for the payroll accounting process including the monthly journal entries, review of burden rates, and monthly and quarterly account reconciliations
Assist in routine month-end tasks including fixed asset creation and depreciation, roll-forward of monthly and quarterly financial reporting and preparation of ARO journal entries Maintain master data in Blackline reconciliation system
Analyze the financial statements and provide variance explanations
Provide assistance with external audits and internal control compliance Generate ad hoc reports for financial reporting team to help analyze business trends and financial results
Ensure adequate internal controls are in place and functioning, including support for SOX
Support various process improvement projects
Other duties as required

BS in accounting required
Experience level of 3-7 years.
SAP experience strongly preferred
CPA a plus

Must be able to work with a diverse group of people and interact with internal and external stakeholders
Must have excellent time management skills, self-directed, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent oral, written, analytical and interpersonal skills
