What you get to do: The Hotel Monaco Washington DC Assistant General Manager is responsible for providing quality guest service and operational execution within the guidelines specified by the hotel management. Oversees all Front Office and Hotel Operating Departments (Housekeeping, Front Desk, PBX, Concierge, Bell, Door, Engineering, Valet Services, and Night Audit).

Your day-to-day: Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Oversee and supervise all duties performed by all Front Office employees.
Sets and maintain high level of guest service and responds to social media sites.
Providing support for the line staff.
Assist with scheduling for all areas of Housekeeping and Front Office operations.
Works closely with Front Office Manager and Director of Housekeeping to ensure all company standards are met and company culture and programs are supported and encouraged.
Monitor and maintain property interfaces.
Ensure proper training of all employees working in front office, engineering and housekeeping areas.
Coaching, counseling, and disciplining all the shift employees along with the department head.
Responsible for necessary communication with Ownership as well as Regional and Corporate internal departments.
Indirectly responsible for overseeing the other hotel departments, such as, Security, Hotel Valet, Reservations.
Executive Committee member with daily communicaton responsibility to all property Director's and non-Rooms division departments.

Specific experience we're seeking:
This position is for a candidate looking to be a Hotel General Manager with Kimpton Hotels within two-three years and open to relocation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Prior hotel department head and supervisory experience required. Depending on the role a degree may be required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
