The Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer / Developer will deliver business insights through data engineering, advanced analytics, and dashboards. The ideal candidate will have outstanding business acumen and judgment, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a desire to continuously invent and simplify. The BI Engineer / Developer will be a self-starter, creative, have a track record of thinking big, be comfortable with ambiguous requirements and enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. To be successful, the BI Engineer / Developer must have broad database-design skills, be comfortable working with complex data sets and have experience building data engineering pipelines and dashboards.
Job Summary Details

Design KPIs, metrics and insightful dashboards.

Ability to distill problem definitions, models, and constraints from informal business requirements; and to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives.

Responsible for collaborating with business owners directly to understand their requirements and provide data which enables them to observe patterns and spot anomalies.

Provide data-driven decision support and business intelligence that is timely, accurate, and actionable to internal and external business owners.

Design and create back-end processes using Data Warehouse modeling techniques to capture data needed for robust dashboards.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
-
Bachelors Degree inComputer Science/Data Science/Math/Other technical field, or equivalent relevant industry experience.

4Years of experience working with MS SQL Server database. Mastery of SQL, specifically with MS SQL Server 2012 and higher.
-
4Years of experience with Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and Power BI).
-
4Years of experience in data modeling, ETL, data warehousing, and transformation of large-scale data sources using SQL, SSIS, SSAS and other Data technologies.

2 Years of experience utilizing Azure Synapse and Azure Analytics.
Specific Skills/Knowledge
-
Advanced skills in data visualization using Power BI.

Superb ability to draw insights from data and clearly communicate them to the stakeholders and senior management as required.

Experience with Healthcare data not required, but highly desirable.

Experience with Data Warehousing methodologies and concepts (Kimball).
-
Experience using Python and Azure Synapse is highly desirable.

Extensive experience with BI/DW lifecycle including source data analysis, ETL, data-marts, reporting, dashboards and analytics.

High proficiency in dimensional modeling techniques and their applications including star- schemas.

Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.

Experience with AGILE and SCRUM frameworks.

Desire to learn modern data warehousing technologies such as Azure cloud.
Location
Our employees are distributed in office locations in multiple markets across the United States. We are unable to hire or allow employees to work outside of the United States. Ideal candidates for this role will reside in Southern California and be open to being in the Corporate Office on a Hybrid basis.

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary for this position is $99,306 - $129,098, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at LIBERTY, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any, final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
