Job Description:

As a Business Development Director in our K-12 segment, you will have the opportunity to become part of one of the most respected food service management companies with a long history of delivering and exceptional dining experience to students ranging from pre-kindergarten through high school. This sales position focuses on building relationships with C-Level business executives at qualified school districts throughout the country. Individuals such as Business Managers, Superintendents, School Board Members, Procurement Officers, CFO’s, etc. will be the primary focus. You must be a strong sales performer with an entrepreneurial spirit who has a hunter’s mentality and has a solid grasp of the sales cycle. Individuals with an understanding of government RFP’s and contracts, the national school lunch program (NSLP) and who have selling experience in the K-12 arena are strongly encouraged. The selected candidate must be a road warrior and willing to have a multi-state responsibility.

Additionally, as part of the Business Operations Team, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Development of new markets
  • Having a total command of the sales process, including but not limited to:
  • Prospect identifying
  • Prospect qualifying
  • Prospect contacting
  • Territory marketing and development
  • Proposal development and delivery
  • Closing and contract negotiations
  • Support with operations including resale support when needed
  • Attendance at various conferences and trade shows throughout the year

Minimum Qualifications:

  • No less than two years of documented success in B2B or outside sales.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in multiple territories
  • Writing, listening, communication and presentation skills
  • Analytical ability to develop financial proformas, P&L’s and manage an overhead budget
  • Identification of prospects and discipline to develop markets: relationship builder with an understanding of long-term, complex sales cycle
  • Effective demonstration of sales process/methodology: identify buying criteria, eliminate objections and develop solutions
  • Computer skills including a strong understanding of the entire Microsoft suite
  • Extensive travel required (75%)
  • College degree desired

Compensation is highly competitive and consists of a base salary plus commission.
