Overview:
Our client, a Los Angeles based, industry leading Business Management and Accounting firm, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join their team to run their tax department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and optimizing client’s tax position. TheTax Manager will play a critical role in strategic planning, providing expert advice on tax issues, and managing the preparation and submission of tax returns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and submission of federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
- Manage tax audits and coordinate with external tax advisors and authorities.
- Tax Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
- Provide guidance on tax implications for business decisions and transactions.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance tax efficiency and compliance.
- Maintain and improve internal controls related to tax processes.
- Team Management:
- Lead and mentor the tax team, providing training and development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to provide tax-related guidance and support.
- Partner with legal, finance, and operations teams on various projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- CPA or equivalent certification is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in tax management, on both individual and corporate tax returns.
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation and compliance software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with international tax issues is a plus.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
