Position Summary:
The Dispensing Technician Operations Manager reports to the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the dispensing department. The Dispensing Technician Operations Manager is responsible for all managing department employees, inventory management, and process improvement initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations

Ensures safe storage and handling of prescriptions drugs including hazardous drugs and controlled substances

Responsible for implementing systems and procedures across multiple shifts

Identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies and drive performance (lean six sigma)

Develops and maintains work instructions and standard operating procedures

Ensures initial and ongoing training is delivered to staff

Establishes, implements, and enforces team metrics and adjusts as needed

Prepares and distributes weekly/monthly/quarterly metrics to PIC

Conducts all interviews and maintains proper staffing levels

Prepares all documentation and delivery of employee corrective actions, , terminations and investigations

Ensures proper licensing of staff

Maintains inventory control and first in, first out procedures

Delivers high level of customer service both internally and externally

Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations pharmacy management system.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Currently registered and in good standing with the Texas Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician or willing to obtain certification

5+ years of management experience required

2+ years of pharmacy experience preferred

Flexible to work long hours including weekends

Lean six sigma white belt or greater preferred
