DINING SERVICES COORDINATOR

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Summary: The Food Services Director is responsible for performing and coordinating food preparation so that food meets and/or exceeds quality, quantity, and service schedule requirements and hospitality service standards for the community. The Food Services Director is also responsible for effectively managing all food production and inventory. Handles all food in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards and complies with federal, state, and local regulatory procedures regarding food production.

  • College degree in Culinary Arts preferred
  • Management experience a plus
  • One year experience as a cook in a senior living community preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
  • Competent in organization and time management
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Essential Duties:

  • Prepare and coordinate meal services, sanitation of food service areas, accurate record keeping, receiving, rotating, and product inventory
  • Daily shift supervision, foot cost control, maintaining security of all food items and supplies, and enforcing policies and procedures of all meal production
  • Creates menus; coordinates and prepares food items in a timely fashion
  • Applies culinary math and measures to achieve production levels
  • Prepares special dietary needs as requested
  • Prepares texture modified food as requested
  • Organizes work to meet production and service requirements
  • Follows all local, state, and federal guidelines for handling food
  • Maintains cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards
  • Record and maintain measures for service standards including production quantities, evaluation sheets, and menu/production sheets
  • Record and maintain food safety records including equipment, refrigerator, and freezer temperatures
  • Record and maintain food safety temperature records including cooking, holding, and cooling temperatures
  • Performs and directs cleaning and sanitation duties
  • Ensures all cooking equipment is safe and in working order
  • Maintains kitchen and surrounding areas for proper directional flow, organization, and supplies maintenance

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40,000.00 to $50,000.00 /year
