Job Summary:
The University of Colorado Denver l Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applications for a Continuing Education Program Professional. This full-time University Staff (non-classified) position provides direct professional support for the teaching and/or educational service mission of the university. Functions include academic advising/counseling, student personnel administration, recruitment and admissions, registration, financial aid, faculty affairs, library services, curriculum administration, and others involving direct support of the educational mission of an academic unit.

The Center for Health, Work & Environment (CHWE) at the Colorado School of Public Health conducts research, offers education and training, and implements community-based public health projects, as well as pilot project research opportunities throughout the West. It is committed to partnering with community stakeholders who share the mission of improving the health, safety and well-being of workers, their families, and communities.

Job Summary:
This position will serve as the Continuing Education Program Professional for the CHWE based at the Anschutz Medical Campus. They will be responsible for the design, development, coordination and management for all educational initiatives serving working professionals. This position will work with senior leadership, outside communication and idesign agencies, and leading academic faculty to develop innovative and relevant educational offerings that address emerging workplace health and safety issues.

The scope of educational delivery will range from self-paced online courses housed on our learning management system to in-person training workshops and educational conferences. Our mission is part of a broader effort supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institutes for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to disseminate evidence-based practices and knowledge about occupational safety, workplace health promotion, and Total Worker Health ® (TWH). This mission spans professional audiences including business executives, health and safety professionals, human resources managers, employees, and others across a wide range of industries. The ideal candidate for this position will have exceptional project management, communication, and continuing education skills. We’re seeking someone with a passion for client interaction and the desire to make a huge public health impact through education.

Supervision Received
This position reports directly to the Instructor in the Center for Health, Work & Environment

Supervision Exercised
This position will not supervise any staff. It may assist with students, part-time employees and trainers.

Examples of Work Performed:
  • Work with project leads (faculty, trainers, clients) to coordinate and execute CE events and courses, while using Association Management Software (AMS) to manage enrollments and students
  • Design, launch and market self-paced online courses, while collaborating with subject matter experts to record lectures, coordinate educational content, develop promotional partners, and organize marketing effort
  • Attend local, regional, and national conferences to promote new training and present curriculum results
  • Manage applying for and renewing a variety of continued education credit including CME, CNE, PDC and CEUs.
  • Manage current online courses, conduct systematic course audits for course quality control and assurance, and learning management system (LMS) maintenance
  • Serve as onsite coordinator to facilitate off-site trainings
  • Work with content team to develop interactive training handbooks
  • Conduct training evaluation, tracking, and reporting
  • Project manage contract trainings where training staff are sent off site to deliver educational workshop
  • Work with events team to develop and conduct live, in-person continuing education events
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position is $40,125 - $66,875 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 2 years of professional level experience in public health or wellness related work.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Requirements:
Experience working with a variety of learning management systems
Experience in creating content for websites, social media, and educational collateral
Experience in instructional design
Experience in events management (large and small)
Experience launching a new product and establishing its adoption

Competencies:
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
Outstanding customer service skills.
