Provide technical support by installing and maintaining networking PC hardware, peripherals, and software. Completes scheduled user-request tasks assigned by supervisor, providing technical assistance to Amarillo College users.
GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Experience installing, maintaining, and servicing computer software and hardware. Experience working with Microsoft’s office systems, technical writing ability and problem solving skills. Two years of experience installing, maintaining, and servicing computer software and hardware preferred.
High School Diploma or GED. Completion of formal training in a computer technical school for 1 year beyond high school. Associate’s Degree in Information Technology with some work experience preferred.
Certificates/Licenses: Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License with a 3-year safe driving record.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have the knowledge and ability to install, troubleshoot, and maintain computer equipment; maintain a preventive maintenance program; and understand technical documentation. Must have the ability to use logic/reasoning to identify alternative solutions/conclusions/approaches to problems, and utilize active listening and critical thinking communication skills. Must have proficient interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be able to lift and handle equipment up to 50 lbs. Ability to work under stress, to work independently and as a team member, and to deal with people in a professional manner.
Salary: $14.12 per hour minimum
