The Sr. Director, Employee Experience and Culture will lead the career development, employee engagement, coaching, performance and inclusion & diversity (I&D) programs for the Design & Consulting Services and Construction Services (DCS & CS) businesses in the Americas. The leader will ensure our overall employee experience is differentiated, market-competitive, aligns to business goals and to enterprise employee experience processes. Ultimately, the impact of this role will be to shape and brand our culture as one that attracts, grows, inspires and retains a diverse network of professionals. This role partners with and supports the HR SVP, as well as HR and business leaders in the delivery of strategic culture initiatives across the business units. This position will have 1 or 2 direct reports and will have strong connections to local ‘Great Place to Work’ teams across our office locations. Directly reports to the VP, People Strategy & Operations.

The position can be located in any of our major offices across the United States.

Roles & Responsibilities:
+ In alignment with the enterprise HR strategy, develops and executes DCS & CS – Americas engagement and culture strategy.

+ Leads development and implementation of engagement strategy with HR and business leaders, including employee surveys and pulse checks, action planning and communication.

+ Leads performance management efforts; Works with HR leaders to ensure more than just an annual performance review – that coaching, feedback and career development are continuous processes.

+ Leads implementation of Workday performance processes.

+ Leads business unit I&D strategy, provides thought leadership and partners in the development of policies and programs that attract, retain and develop a diverse workforce and that cultivate a culture that is inclusive, innovative and actively embraces multiple dimensions of diversity.

+ Partners closely with communications, marketing, legal and corporate social responsibility to ensure engagement and I&D priorities are reflected in branding and internal/external messaging.

+ Keeps current on external I&D practices by developing relationships and maintaining contact with others in the field (e.g., professional associations and educational groups) with the intention of working together to enhance the company brand.

+ Designs and implements KPIs to determine the impact of culture, I&D and engagement initiatives; partners with HR leaders and People Analytics function to evaluate effectiveness and checks and adjusts accordingly.

+ Inspires, coaches, develops and mobilizes team to action.

Minimum Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 15 years of HR experience, specifically with a mix of HR Business Partner and I&D or performance management roles. In addition to any COE experience leading career development, culture or I&D programs, role requires business-relevant programmatic design gained through previously held roles as a strategic HR business partner.

+ Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and influence at the highest levels of an organization.

+ Experience assembling ROI focused business cases in support of investment requests.

+ Experience inspiring, coaching, developing and mobilizing teams to action.

+ Ability to work productively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

+ Ability to balance big picture, strategic thinking with tactical implementation.

+ Ability to work effectively in a matrixed team environment and to collaborate across lines of business and functions.

+ Must be detail-oriented with excellent written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Master’s degree and/or additional relevant HR / change management certifications.

+ Experience with process improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Simple Problem Solving.

+ Implemented or used Workday as human capital management solution.
