NIGHT AWAKE position:
Utah Valley University is seeking Night Awake Counselors for the Summer Upward Bound Program. The night awake staff:
Monitors students who will be sleeping in the dorms
Performs hourly bedroom checks to ensure safety and well-being of students throughout the night
Escorts students to and from the UVU campus
Communicates with program staff about any issues that arise
Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
This position requires staying awake all night. This is a temporary summer position. Training is May 28 – May 29, 2020. Employment dates are May 31 – June 26, 2020.
There are two Shifts available:
Shift 1: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, 11:30 pm – 8:30 am.
Shift 2: Wednesday and Thursday 9:00 pm – 8:30 am.
Graduation with a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of college education. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Knowledge of policies and procedures in safety and ethical behavior.
Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to get along with different types of personalities.
Ability to stay awake all night.
Physical ability to perform manual work.
Must be able to stay awake and work during the night. Sitting for extended period of time, walking, and seeing.

You may be eligible for a 3 credit hour or 1 class tuition waiver after 6 consecutive months of employment and a minimum of 475 hours worked. Dependents do not qualify for a waiver.
Pay Range $14.00 - $17.00/hour
