The Global Co Lab Network is a nonprofit, based in Arlington VA, a virtual “do tank” that empowers inter-generational engagements building on teen and millennial passions, incubating initiatives (on any issue) out of carefully designed and facilitated Co-Lab gatherings. It works now primarily to engage teens in virtual rooms to inspire action on one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The Co-Lab is looking to hire a passionate, mission-oriented summer intern to start immediately. The position is open to current undergraduate and graduate students who are eligible to work in the United States and they should be in the Arlington VA region for the internship. The Summer 2020 internship requires a minimum commitment of 2.5 months with start and stop dates flexible. The Intern will work a minimum of 15 hours a week virtually until it is safe to meet at its co-working space in Clarendon. Applications will be taken on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Looking for a start date of early June 2020. This is a non-paid internship but interns will be given a space to work when / if restrictions are lifted and a minimal stipend of $150. per month.
The Co-Lab seeks an intern who has excellent time management and organizational skills, is a strong writer and researcher, and is comfortable working with minimal supervision. The position requires considerable maturity as well as passion in the mission of the Co-Lab and its values of inclusiveness, inter-generational collaboration, and action. The Intern will join the Founding Director in most meetings and in strategic discussions. The Intern will play a key role in providing the Co-Lab with administrative, logistical, and operational assistance needed to execute its work, including work on fundraising, event planning, and managing virtual rooms with teens on mental health, gender equality, quality education and arts for the SDGs.

Current Co-Lab projects include Teens Dream, a global video contest for teens to connect around the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Citizen Exchange Circles, and Dream Hubs where teens convene with adult mentors to act on the SDGs.

This position can be done virtually but the applicant should be able to come into the Arlington Co-Work Office periodically (at a mutually agreed time) to meet with the Director if restrictions are lifted.
