CLASSIFICATION: Personnel Assistant II

GRADE: Non-Exempt, Regular Full-Time

REPORTS TO: Supervisor

GENERAL DUTIES: This position is responsible for routine clerical duties such as new hire orientation, responding to routine questions on policy and procedures. This position requires extensive knowledge of various office software packages. Guidance is provided as needed. Job functions include generating spreadsheets and using general computer skills to prepare/revise job descriptions, employee handbooks, policy manuals and other HR forms and documents. Maintains personnel files; assists with in processing of new hires and prepares files for out-processing of terminating employees. Prepares affidavits for prospective visitors and enters into the base access control system. Deltek Costpoint experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Personnel Assistant II may perform tasks beyond routine clerical such as: pre-employment drug screening and new hire orientation, responding to routine questions on policy and procedures, and/or provide reports on employee turnover or time and attendance. This assistant may be asked to evaluate and consolidate information from various sources under short deadlines. This position requires extensive knowledge of various office software packages. Guidance is provided as needed. Maintains personnel files; assists with in processing of new hires and prepares files for out-processing of terminating employees.

OTHER DUTIES: Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have formal business training and three years of administrative experience in Human Resources. Excellent organization and communication skills (verbal and written) are required. Position requires proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications. The ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion is essential.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a National Agency Check Investigation. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work activities are normally performed in an environmentally controlled area.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Some bending, kneeling and pulling required to access personnel files; very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials.
