Regional Training Center Coordinator - 1904349
At Stony Brook Medicine, The Regional Training Center (RTC) coordinates and provides emergency management/preparedness education for health care partners on Long Island and the Lower Hudson Valley. The RTC coordinator will oversee the operation of the RTC program. He/She will facilitate, develop, conduct, and evaluate preparedness training for the region.
Duties of a Regional Training Center Coordinator may include the following but are not limited to:
Provide full programmatic support to the mission and goals of the RTC for the counties included in the RTC Metropolitan Area Regional Office (MARO) region. Travel within the MARO region is required.
Coordinate RTC involvement in meetings, forums, training sessions and conferences, as necessary.
Develop, implement, and guide key specific programs within the RTC to include education, training, outreach and program development. Responsible for the ongoing evaluation of the program, and periodically develops required reports/summaries of program accomplishments
Act as the RTC liaison and participate as needed with Stony Brook University Hospital’s Emergency Management (EM) program
Assess the training needs of regional partners
Develop and manage required documentation for grant deliverables for the RTC
Represent RTC at internal and external meetings
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related or healthcare profession.
Registered Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician certification (A-EMT, EMT), Public Health Professional.
Experienced in teaching and instruction in a healthcare related environment.
Current experience in the area of health planning, hospital preparedness, strategic or disaster planning.
Previous employment demonstrates 3-5 years of progressive experience in healthcare preparedness training
Competency with computer applications including Microsoft Office
Emergency Management work related experience
Hazardous Materials Operations Certification
Incident Command System Training and Certification
Experience with hospital drills and exercises
