Nearpod is looking for a specialized contractor to work on Curriculum Alignment projects. The project you will be working on will involve aligning Nearpod content to a new Math curriculum within the Nearpod platform. During this contract, you will be working primarily with K-5 Math content.
Specialized skills and qualifications:
We’re looking for someone with teaching experience as a certified math teacher or someone who is currently completing their teaching certification in elementary, middle, or high school. K-5 math experience is strongly preferred.
Along with your resume, please submit the following application task outlined below:
Part 1: Align Grade K, Unit 5, Section B, Lesson 5 (https://curriculum.illustrativemathematics.org/k5/teachers/kindergarten/unit-5/lesson-5/preparation.html) and Grade 3, Unit 5, Section C, Lesson 10 (https://curriculum.illustrativemathematics.org/k5/teachers/grade-3/unit-5/lessons.html) of Illustrative Math to content in the Nearpod Library. The goal of your deliverable is to get teachers using Nearpod content more often by making the content easily accessible within their curriculum. Along with your alignment, please include a one-paragraph general description of how you see Nearpod pairing with this core curriculum to enhance instruction. The description should be written to face a district purchaser.
- Your alignment can take any form: Google document, slide deck, Nearpod lesson, etc. However, it should stand on its own to communicate your ideas in writing.
- Remember: Nearpod is a supplemental curriculum. There may not be a one-to-one match or lessons in the Nearpod Library, and that is ok!
Part 2: Using the alignment you created in part 1, input the content into this spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ygl5INQqtGYGFMrXSEpGO2DUo80PrxkpBjN1mrb4JXM/copy) to the best of your ability. Do your best to assign a lesson type and category to each aligned piece of content. You may add or delete rows as necessary.
This project might be perfect for you if:
You are very familiar with academic standards for K-5 math as well as best practices in pedagogy and instructional design. You are proficient/advanced in Google Suite, specifically Google Sheets. You are precise, detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines. You care about improving education through technology and thoughtful instructional design.
