The Associate Manager, Category Marketing, will manage efforts related to executing vendor- and category-specific tactics and campaigns that drive trial, basket-building and frequency at PetSmart. He/she will work with Merchandising, vendors and the Brand team to ensure plans are strategically aligned to grow the business for key brands, leading the project management across teams, helping to analyze and report back on what is working and what needs to be optimized. This person will work in partnership with the Marketing Manager, Category Marketing, to support Merchandising partner needs across Consumables, Hardgoods and Specialty.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

Managing the creation and flawless set-up of vendor-specific coupons and bounce-backs
Building vendor message calendars that complement the PetSmart promotional/seasonal calendar
Working cross-functionally to ensure that programs (e.g., open-to-public Treats benefits) are coordinated across email, web, app, circular, social and signage
Developing and executing CRM programs that are product-based (e.g., driving wet food purchase or treats among dry food buyers), coordinating messaging with the Consumer Marketing team and customer calendar
Managing recording log of key vendor inclusion and ensuring quarterly reporting accurately reflects key initiatives
Developing and managing creative briefs, including differentiating RTBs, across vendors as appropriate, to create compelling digital messages
Ensuring PetSmart branding is appropriate on vendor-produced artwork that features the PetSmart brand
Coordinating appropriate sampling opportunities with Events team
Providing key information (reports, activity, etc.) to Merchandising for quarterly business reviews (QBRs), leading the creation of quarterly reports across functions

Strong interest in keeping up-to-date on pet-related product innovation and how to incorporate into category and/or brand messaging
Strong executive presence and ability to present activity to a variety of different vendor partners
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Marketing, Business, or related field
MBA or master’s degree preferred
Minimum three years of experience in marketing, retail experience preferred
