Build.com is looking for an SEO Specialist to develop and execute the SEO strategy for Build.com and its portfolio of brands. You will have a unique opportunity to work cross functionally with department leaders in merchandising, category, marketing, software development and product. You will support and set SEO standards across these teams and influence the technology system (e.g. CMS) roadmaps and insure we are following current best practices. This role is highly technical and requires an exceptional leader who can work in the weeds to identify areas of opportunity and quickly shift gears and translate findings up and down the organization. You will use your experience with various data sets, including web analytics, content management systems, SEO tools, server logs to report and measure on the performance of SEO. You must have a strong background in eCommerce and understand the complexities with managing millions of sku’s.
What you will do:
Own the execution of the SEO strategy through the entire portfolio of brands and categories.
Own cross-functional communication between merchandising, category, marketing, software development and product and make sure SEO in well represented
Analyze & report on relevant SEO KPI’s, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly.
Analyze technical SEO implementations and find opportunities for improvement
Recommend onpage optimization changes that follow current best practices
Optimize navigation, heading and meta information.
Work side by side with the content team and provide support and guidance
Perform keyword research and competitor analysis
Help advocate for SEO best practices and adoption by core cross-functional teams, including content, front-end engineering, and creative teams
Analyze and implement best in class SEO techniques
Work with marketing teams to drive content creation and development teams to ensure best practices are properly implemented.
Drive high-volume organic search growth and prepare detailed strategy reports
What you will bring to the table:
5+ years working in eCommerce + Omni-Channel environment
5+ years working with eCommerce content management systems (e.g. Magento, Shopify, Demand Ware, In-House).
5+ years experience managing and executing the SEO strategy
Experience in creating and implementing SEO best practices, search engine algorithms and ranking strategies, and passion to stay abreast of news and trends in SEO and online marketing
Ability to communicate effectively to senior and executive management; exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills that can be tailored to internal partners
A proven track record of developing and managing initiatives and delivering effective results in your current role
2+ years working in cross-functional teams with multiple stakeholders to educate, influence and execute strategy
Experience with SEO analytics and research platforms (e.g. Google Search Console, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Adwords Keyword Tool, SEMrush, Moz, Ahrefs, etc.)
Strong Technical SEO knowledge and ability to conduct site audits.
Self motivated, organized, have strong prioritization, and can solve problems and hungry to learn new things on your own
Familiarity working with data in SQL, log data (server, analytics), Cloud Platform (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Has experience in SEM and SEM bid management tools
