ECS is seeking a Deputy Director, Business Operations to work in our Fairfax, VA office.
ECS is seeking a Deputy Director, Business Operations to manage and provide direction to a federal level program supporting a DoD customer. The Deputy Director will lead the Business Operations team in the program as well as ensure financial management of all contracts. This is a senior level position which will require a strong leadership background in finance, procurement, and budget management.
Work with the customer to identify their business/contract requirements and develop a proposed solution
Provide updates on customer and corporate issues, participating in recurring executive and customer facing meetings
Update and maintain production and quality metrics of multiple programs / projects.
Collaborate with corporate financial team to monitor and manage contract costs, forecasting, and budget preparation utilizing Costpoint and Hyperion reporting systems
Meet with corporate and executive management teams to review, update, and report project financial performance (revenue, cost, margin)
Collaborate with Contracts/Pricing and Program Management teams to develop price proposals and cost estimates
Ensure contract and program execution is in compliance with appropriate corporate and federal procurement guidelines
Prepare and/or support various project reporting requirements including monthly status reports, weekly corporate reports, and daily updates to respective finance books
Work with project managers and operations staff to develop necessary data for key performance indicators to monitor project progress, performance trends, and early warning of burn out
Conduct timely month-end close, ensuring proper accounting of project costs and revenue
Continually assesses ongoing processes to identify areas for potential improvement
Identify program financial trends and provide recommendations when needed; conduct budget forecasting to mitigate over expenditures
Ability to develop cost / budget models for pricing of services and goods to customers
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field
Must be a US Citizen be able to obtain a Top-Secret clearance
At least 8-12 years of management experience; prior project management and finance experience required with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects / priorities simultaneously
Experience leading teams in the many components of program management, such as: financial management, program documentation, scheduling, customer service, quality control, and others
Experience working with multiple stakeholders in the customer space and managing competing priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience developing and delivering senior level briefs and presentations.
Self-motivated and results-oriented dedicated individual with a strong work ethic
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Master’s Degree preferred
Knowledge of government contract types to include Firm Fixed Price, Time and Materials and Cost Reimbursable
Accounting experience with government contractor
Understanding of project-level finances to include billing and revenue types, direct charges and indirect rates
Department of Defense experience as either a senior uniformed service member, civil servant, or DoD contractor.
Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Hyperion
