We are seeking an experience maintenance technician for a property located in Chicago.

Position Overview:
Responsible for maintenance functions on site. This person will perform repair and maintenance of HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems, plumbing, grounds, structural elements, motor vehicles, and equipment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure that all apartments are in decent, safe, sanitary condition and are maintained in good repair.
- Perform regular inspections of all grounds, structures, and systems and correct any problems.
- Participate in snow removal operations.
- Comply with the preventive maintenance programs for all structures, systems, equipment, and motor vehicles.
- Participate in overall maintenance operations at the property to ensure that the physical aspects of the community meet the company’s established standards for safety, appearance, and operation while meeting budgetary guidelines.
- Manage the inventory of “ready” apartments to support the community’s marketing and leasing efforts.
- Assist in the turn process and inspect all “ready” apartments for move-in quality.
- Comply with the company’s and the community’s operating and safety policies and procedures and adhere to federal, state and local laws pertaining to the operation of the community.
- Comply with all fair housing laws.
- Create and sustain a positive work environment and at the community.
- Foster and maintain positive resident relations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of progressively responsible experience in the maintenance / repair of HVAC systems, mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing, and grounds in multi-family or commercial developments.
- Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
- Able to work overtime and emergency call in.
- Maintain Universal EPA Designation / Certification.
