Description: Office of NY State Senator Brian Kavanagh seeks a Communications Director
Responsibilities: The Communications Director will develop, manage, and execute an ambitious communications plan that supports the Senator’s legislative agenda and district priorities in collaboration with the State Senator, staff colleagues, other elected and government officials, constituents, and advocacy organizations.
Qualifications: College degree and/or significant communications experience in or out of government are required. Familiarity with New York government and politics strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to public service, superb oral and written communication skills, good judgement, political sensitivity, and a willingness to work long hours as necessary and some weekends in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment. Travel to Albany may be required during the January-June legislative session. The New York State Senate is an equal opportunity employer.
