Plans, directs, manages and oversees the activities, programs, and operations of the Finance Department. Coordinates assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies. Provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Administrator and Mayor. The Finance Director is a key member of the management team and supervises a staff of 7 employees. This position requires knowledge of the principles and practices of municipal finance and accounting, budget preparation and administration, financial reporting, and supervision, training and performance evaluation.
Preferred applicants will have eight years of responsible experience in public sector fiscal services or a closely related field with four years of administrative and supervisory experience. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, economics, accounting or a closely related field is required. A Master’s degree in a related field preferred. Must be able to satisfactorily pass background check and drug screen.
