We are looking for a Medical Lab Scientist to become a part of our laboratory diagnostic team. The responsibilities of this role include testing and resulting clinical assays. Candidates must have at minimum, a bachelor’s degree, current applicable license (generalist, microbiology and molecular biology), prior experience in a clinical laboratory, and molecular experience. Familiarity with CLIA, OSHA, and other regulating agencies will be required.
Duties
- Performs and interprets a variety of molecular assays including PCR and NGS methodologies.
- Performs maintenance and quality control processes in accordance with laboratory policy
- Troubleshooting as necessary
- Assists with the evaluation, development, validation and implementation of new equipment, tests or processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned to include, but not limited to, participation in special research projects, and developing procedures or training programs for new equipment or processes.
Requirements
In order to qualify for a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
A. Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree from a regionally accredited college/university including courses in biological science, chemistry and mathematics, AND successful completion of a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained.
Medical Lab Scientist Requirements and Qualifications

- · 1 year of clinical laboratory experience
- · Willing to work with potentially infectious human blood and body fluids
- · Ability to work with automated and manual platforms
- · Must possess skills required for aseptic techniques
- · Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs
- · Demonstrates a high level of integrity and honesty in performing tests, documenting test results and maintaining patient, client, employee and laboratory business confidentiality
- · Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- · Analytical judgment, problem solving skills, accuracy and strong detail oriented.

Lab Hours of operation: 9AM to 5 PM on M-F.
