Senior Informatica Systems Administrator

General Overview

This Senior Technology Administrator position will provide system administration services for the Informatica platform for an enterprise environment. This includes management of the software, servers and content within the environment, as well as delivering support services to the user community to provide a robust scalable platform for future growth in a multi-tenant environment.

**Due to Department of Defense (DOD) contract requirements, the incumbent who fills this position must be a US citizen **

Essential Responsibilities

Perform system management duties such as installation, configuration, maintenance, system support, software patching and upgrades.
Monitor the environment to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues. Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve complex problems impacting service levels.
Participate in the on-call rotation to support the environment and user community.
Administer security permissions, and ensure compliance to required corporate standards, procedures, guidelines and processes, including audits.
Mentor and train end users in the use of the technology.
Document the configuration of the system, system controls, and procedures.
Other duties as assigned or requested.
Required Qualifications

Associates Degree/IT Trade School diploma
5-10 years of relevant, progressive experience in the area of specialization
Additional Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
(5-7 years) experience as an Informatica Administrator installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting any one or more Informatica products:
  • Power center
  • Power Exchange
  • Informatica Data Quality
  • Master Data Management (MDM)
  • Big Data Management (BDM)
  • Big Data Quality (BDQ)
  • Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC)
  • Axon
Supporting multiple Informatica PowerCenter 10.1.x and Big Data Management 10.2.1 environments with responsibility for environment uptime and overall system performance.
Experience performing Informatica upgrades and hot fix installations.
Experience with Linux Shell Scripting including troubleshooting.
Experience with multiple database platforms including Teradata, Oracle and SQL Server.
Experience coordinating effective communication between teams.
Experience with the ESP scheduler.
Proficiency in Informatica Power Center 10.1.1 or higher (Designer, Workflow Manager, Workflow Monitor).
Complete understanding of code promotion activities and best practices.
Experience with the Informatica security model, LDAP integration, and managing large ETL environments.
Experience in Release Management Processes – Leveraging Informatica / and or 3rd Party Tools & Utilities
Experienced in managing multi-tenant Informatica environments
Experienced in system & performance management (Unix/Linux/Database environment)
Understanding of database design concepts and best practices, and management techniques
Experience in Production level support for onsite and offshore teams during their development life cycle
Working knowledge of HortonWorks Hadoop is a plus
Knowledge of IBM WebSphere is a plus
Troubleshooting during system downtime to restore service (working with vendor if necessary), determining root cause and establishing procedures to avoid recurrence.
Supporting the system running on a Linux OS.
Preferred Qualifications

Active participation in infrastructure architecture, such as designing, hardware sizing, effort estimation and security.
Experience in creating presentation on installation and upgrade, publish technical documentation, run books and environment release guides.
Innovative and creative person who has developed new approaches to developing infrastructure solutions.
Goal oriented with high standards for quality and performance.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
