The Child Life Specialists at Cincinnati Children's are committed to the practice of family-centered care by promoting play, education, developmental and psychosocial support. We are an integral part of the health care team who can support the child's outpatient visit and inpatient stay. Child Life Specialists can minimize stress and maximize coping of patients and families.
We are recruiting for a
Certified Child Life Specialist for the Behavior Safety Team (BST). The BST Child Life Specialist works alongside the multidisciplinary Behavior Safety Team (BST) to help create and deliver comprehensive supportive care to ensure physical and emotional safety during healthcare encounters. BST is a team dedicated to helping individuals with behavioral concerns receive medical care while maintaining the safety of patients, caregivers, and staff.
Primary job functions include working with patients with developmental disabilities and/or challenging behaviors, completing comprehensive pre-planning for healthcare encounters, providing child life interventions in a variety of settings, working with BST team on program development, relevant projects, and providing education strategies to colleagues.
The schedule is Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm, with 1 Saturday every 10 weeks.
Qualifications: To be considered, candidates will have a Bachelor degree in a related field, and completion of child life internship under the supervision of a certified CLS. Must be certified as a Child Life Specialist within one year of hire.
Pay: $22.79-28.00/hour + $5.00/hour weekend differential

Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 0 - 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline
- Completion of child life internship under the supervision of a certified CLS
- CCLS within one year of hire
