Family Support’s primary purpose is to enhance enrollment and retention by providing the best possible experience for families and students. With the services we provide to schools, students and families, we also support key accountabilities within marketing, sales, client relations and school services including:

+ Enrollment and Retention

+ Sales/Proposals

+ Client and School Satisfaction

+ Graduation Rate

Family Support Operations Department

The Family Support Operations department is accountable for achieving the highest levels of customer experience, enrollment goal achievement, regulatory compliance and operational/financial efficiency in these support services:

+ Enrollment and Academic Placement document processing and verification, including tracking the disposition of withdrawn students

+ Partner Program and iNaCA backoffice enrollment support for our schools/institutions

+ Special Operations

+ Family Support strategic and process improvement initiatives

Position Summary:
Working from our office in Columbia, MD, the Academic Placement Associate’s primary responsibilities are to assist the Family Support Operations Team by accurately and efficiently reviewing incoming students’ academic documentation. This position requires verification of enrollment information into Connections Education’s learning management system (Connexus™). The Associate communicates with families regarding missing or incomplete paperwork and answers parent inquiries. Other responsibilities include the maintenance of enrollment data and assisting with the saving, uploading, and scanning of special education, gifted, and other academic documentation as needed. This position is integral to the success of the Academic Placement Services Team. The Associate will work with the Family Support Operations Team to provide the most accurate and timely turnaround of data verification. A successful candidate will remain current on regulations and requirements for all states in addition to state and federal guidelines related to student data and school specific deadlines. As a critical connection between Connections Academy and our families, it is essential that the Academic Placement Associate, provide the necessary level of support to meet our goals.

Primary Responsibilities:
+ Review academic documentation including report cards, unofficial transcripts, state test scores, and home school documents for compliance and completeness;

+ Review special education documentation including Individualized Education Plans (IEP),evaluation reports, and 504 Plans for compliance and completeness;

Review gifted documentation including gifted evaluations, Gifted Individualized Education Plans (GIEP), and testing results for compliance and completeness;

+ Communicate with families who have submitted invalid or incomplete documentation through phone and email correspondence;

+ Contact families who have been identified as needing additional support or documentation;

+ Assist with naming, saving, and uploading of academic, special education, and gifted documentation into Connexus, our Education Management System;

+ Assist the Family Support Operations Team in Connexus™ record maintenance, as needed;

Develop an understanding of the enrollment document upload process in order to communicate when issues occur;

+ Clearly communicate additional enrollment and placement tasks that are needed in order to progress through the process in verbal and written form;

+ Demonstrate an understanding of the course placement process and how the Associate role impacts the workflow of other positions;

+ Maintain accuracy of student records/data in accordance with all regulatory requirements;

+ Demonstrate a general understanding of Connections Academy’s special education program, Individual Education Programs (IEPs), and processes for supplying related services to students;

+ Coordinate with the Enrollment Team to assist with counseling calls made to prospective families;

+ Run and manipulate reports utilizing the learning management system;

+ Basic administration of accounts in the Connections Academy learning management system and other third party accounts;

+ Assist with creating user accounts for Supplemental Instructional Support Programs, when needed; and

+ Other duties as assigned by the Family Support Operations Leadership Team.

Requirements:
+ Prior school enrollment/registration experience a plus

+ Excellent data analysis skills

+ Knowledge of online student information systems a plus
