The National Instruments Global Services Integration Engineering Hardware team is looking for an experienced Senior Level Electro Mechanical Technician. As a senior IES EM Technician, you will enjoy the unique opportunity to help build, implement and troubleshoot automated test solutions for National Instruments cutting edge test & measurement systems.

Technicians implement and support automated test platforms, integrating both hardware and software, in support of building custom turnkey test solutions.

This successful individual in this role will be hands-on and resourceful, possess a strong work ethic, and be attentive to current and future customer requirements, both internal and external. The individual must have the intellect and team skills to work among capable, results-oriented peers.


Basic Qualifications
Minimum Associate or Bachelor degree in Electronics Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Industrial Control Systems, or Equivalent Technical Discipline
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an engineering technician role
Technical proficiency with analog and digital electronic/electrical principles. These would include but not be limited to the following abilities:
Read and understand schematics as well as mechanical assembly documentation
Create documentation in support build and release of test solutions
Use mechanical tools to solder, build and rework Printed Circuit Boards, Cabling and Automated Test Systems
Competencies in using DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Analyzers etc.
Basic Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Skills
Ability to do component research and create Bills of Materials
Preferred Qualifications
Function in a highly relationship-based global environment Familiarity with National Instruments Hardware and Software products
Working knowledge in AutoCAD
Working knowledge in PCB design Schematic Capture Program PADS
Hands on use of LabVIEW Software
Familiarity with calibration and measurement methodologies
Working knowledge of MS Office Applications
