Provides unsurpassed technical capability and expertise in the support of innovation and Mission Success at the Materials Technology Lab of Lockheed Martin Space Systems. Position requires candidate to coordinate and interface directly with customers and other team members to assist with the various stages of the product development cycle for aerospace materials, mechanisms, and structures. Must be a self-starter, willingness to become an expert in mechanical testing and aerospace-related mechanisms development, committed to continuous process improvement and have the ability to provide solutions to difficult engineering issues, either independently or in a team environment. This is a hands on position operating in a laboratory environment that supports the development of complex systems for use in human / robotic space exploration, navigation, communications, national security and other aerospace related systems.
Desired Skills: Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent with CREO, Labview, environmental testing (thermal and thermal vacuum), dynamics, thermodynamics, test automation, dynamometers, etc. Established track record demonstrating the ability to manage multiple development programs simultaneously.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of spacecraft mechanisms and general mechanical / electrical aptitude that will be applied to component level mechanisms development for spacecraft as well as the operation of servo hydraulic / electro-mechanical load frames, instrumentation / data acquisition, mechanical design / analysis (CREO preferred).

Technical writing and communication skills.

Ability to become a Certified Test Conductor.
