Position: Director of Technology. We are looking for a highly adaptable technical leader with experience developing large scale consumer facing applications using Agile and Lean methodologies and tools. It is important that candidate have experience working with a blend of both junior and senior team members. It is also important that candidate have a strong client-facing presence in both sales and delivery situations.
Role and Responsibilities:
Requirements definition and selection of technologies to meet functional requirements
Defining and governing the design and implementation of requirements that will include modeling of the components and the activities that make up the solution and document systems requirements like scalability, extensibility, accessibility, privacy, security etc
Defining and designing the domain and data models for solutions
Defining the work breakdown structures for what is required to deliver the solution
Defining quality benchmarks and team strategies for meeting those benchmarks and regularly measuring those benchmarks
Building prototypes and/or proof of concepts to better inform estimations, work breakdown and feasibility
Solution estimation, risk identification and dependency analysis
Oversight of the procurement and deployment of resources required to support the delivery of the technology of the project
You will be required to work closely with our clients to identify the highest value solutions to the most painful problems our clients have and then turn those into reqs that you will design and implement for
Desired Skills and Experience:
For a Director, 10 to 15 years of proven experience leading enterprise solutioning
Experience working with modern web technologies - Spring, Ruby on Rails, Grails, Django Enterprise Development platforms - Java or .NET Rich Application Development Technologies Jquery, Dojo, GWT, HTML5 etc
Thorough knowledge of RDBMS, Design patterns, OOAD, UML
Fabulous communication and client facing skills
Ability to be credible with teams of developers who will be looking to this person for leadership
Desire & ability to mentor colleagues
Ability to estimate and plan Agile & fixed scope technologies
Demonstrable success in leading teams in the delivery of technology projects
