The Product & Service Operations team supports millions of businesses by resolving their product support needs while using our ad products and ensures that businesses have a great experience while advertising on Facebook. The Internal Solutions team within Product & Service Operations is an applications engineering team focused on solving for tools development or back-end infrastructure problems. We partner with product and software engineering teams to build proprietary tools and techniques to provide support at scale and enforce the quality of support for all of our advertising products. Successful candidates for this team have a bias toward action and enjoy finding patterns amid chaos, making quick decisions, and aren't afraid of being wrong. This position is located in our Menlo Park, CA office.
Manage a small to medium-sized team of technical individuals (with the majority of their time being devoted to applications engineering / tools development)
Leverage technical skills to successfully drive infrastructure & tool improvements for new products and existing processes and workflows
Partner with cross-functional teams such as Product and Engineering to lead or contribute to large scale strategic projects as well as solve ongoing operational problems at scale
Lead the team by being a strong voice for them and aligning closely with cross-functional partners, driving towards the same business and company goals
Be able to drive the team to impact and communicate it effectively
Understand business needs, context and gaps and creatively come up with possible solutions to problems by leveraging tools/infrastructure knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or quantitative disciplines such as math, statistics, computer science, information systems
7+ years work experience including at least 2 years of direct people management experience
Experience with object-oriented programming languages and system design
Experience with engineering disciplines, systems testing and design
Communication skills and influential leader
Highly motivated and hard-working with ability to think under pressure, both individually and in a team environment
Strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving skills
Ability to assess, analyze and resolve complicated issues, and distill that complexity into simple communication
Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
