Job Title: Manager, In House Rtail Prodct (CCL)
We are currently seeking an In House Retail Product Manager! This position will be fully responsible for the Product Management which includes but is not limited to new Product Design and Development, Inventory Management, Buying, Purchasing and Planning. This position will drive the effort to support all In-House retail revenue POS and channels: ‘The Fun Shops’, ‘Cherry on Top’, ‘Carnival Adventures’, Special Occasions’, ‘Soulplay, ‘Creative Cove’ and all other retail venues IHR operations conducted onboard and ashore as well as through our retail partners (Starboard, Dufry, Heinemann, Harding and any other CCL would work in the future) . This role will serve as from where the different Guest Commerce areas will also source to bring merchandise to drive revenue but also to be responsible for the category management and analysis so this position will also overview the sales/revenue strategies by product & category and will help merchandising to fulfill the different concepts. This Position will work closely and teammate with the Shop Experience Manager and the IHR E-Commerce area to bring the best product concept and experience for our guests.
Product Development- Lead the Design and Product Development effort to deliver new merchandise assortments that adjusts to sales plans based on different Guest Commerce Areas needs and developments of the business. Identify, establish, build and maintain strong vendor partnerships. Drive the negotiation process with vendors including cost pricing and quantities. Identify current trends and develop business strategies by attending trade shows, industry events, and shop competition. Work closely with designer both in house and trough vendors to deliver the best logo items to our different concepts and Brands.
Attend Gift Shows and Souvenir Fairs and bring samples and new ideas to the different businesses.
Inventory Management, Strategic Planning & Forecasting- Responsible for managing the inventory levels overseeing and working together with the Inventory Management Planner and the IHR Shop Experience Manager, evaluating new and existing product sales to maximize revenue. Determine item lifecycles and exit strategies, overseeing the retail management process onboard, driving the best practices procedures onboard and implementing inventory management solutions as needed. Drive the strategic vision with vendor partners aligned with Carnival brand vision; best in class retail experience is paramount. Integrate sourcing, marketing and supply chain functions into the merchandising process to make business decisions. This includes participation in brainstorming sessions, planning meetings, and strategy sessions. It will also lead the categories management and strategy.
Metrics Management- Set and achieve sales goals driving top line growth with margin focus via multi-category procurement. Adjust as warranted. Analyze the trend with a keenness to test and trial new pricing strategies. Closely manage and monitor inventory, protecting aged goods non-movement.
Management of two positions: Lead the daily coaching and development of the Inventory Management Purchasing Planner and the Merchant Associate.
Merchandising- Deliver all aspects of product placement and visual standards through development of planograms and standards by work directly with the IHR Shop Experience Manager to ensure standards are communicated effectively and maintained quarterly.
Marketing & Promotions- Maximize promotional and marketing strategies through markdowns and/or repositioning strategies.
Work with the e-commerce Manager and with the Shop Experience Manager as well as with the Retail Partners and different Guest Commerce Areas to ensure the best experience for the guests both Online and Onboard while maximizing the revenue for the company trough the best product assortment experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Commerce, Administrative Computing, Visual Merchandising, Industrial Engineer, Administration, Management, Interior Designer, Product Development, or Buying/Purchasing
5 years of Professional Experience required
Experience in retail buying or merchandise management with a concentration in novelty or specialty groups, preferred, High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, Communicate clearly and accurately both verbally and orally; business professionalism, Ability to continuously prioritize own workload with minimal direction, Thorough and advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Detail oriented and comfortable working with numbers daily, Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships and collaborations
Buying/Purchasing Experience, Planning, Excel, Forecasting, negotiation
