Network Security Engineer

This position is expected to research and implement both technical and non-technical solutions to company security problems, as well as identify new problems and develop/implement solutions. He/she will architect and engineer such solutions and work in close collaboration with other infrastructure staff. This position will effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical employees within the organization.

Research, analyze, recommend, document, and implement new products, technologies, applications, and /or services as needed to ensure the integrity of the corporate IT environment with an emphasis on network security-related solutions
Implement corporate standard security products globally, as needed
Aid in troubleshooting issues with supported technologies as they arise
Act as tier 3 architecture/engineering support for security-related issues that come up and are escalated to information security for resolution
Serve as subject matter expert on matters of Enterprise IT Security, including network security technology focus
Support broader infrastructure teams as needed, often as a project participant for solutions sponsored by other teams
Perform daily monitoring and management of the backup system; monitor backup jobs, execute restore jobs, troubleshoot failed jobs, and initiate corrective action.
Create security project documentation
Perform other duties as assigned or requested

Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
Years of Experience: Other

Other: 7 years overall IT experience including at least 5 years working with network security architecture and engineering

Specific Licenses and/or Certifications: Other

Other: CISSP certified, CCNP Security, CCIE Security or related certifications

Specialized Knowledge, Technical Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of several of the following: Firewalls, VPNs, IPS/IDS systems, NAC, Platform Security (Windows, Unix, Linux), Security Compliance Tools, Vulnerability Management Tools. Knowledge of security software products, techniques, processes and vendors. Knowledge of current IT security concerns and changes in technology as they relate to the corporate IT environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills
