The National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU) is seeking a researcher to assist in providing timely and relevant information on economic and credit union trends, conduct original survey research, and provide analytical and technical support to the Association and its members. This position reports to VP of Research/Chief Economist.

You are a self-starter with strong research, writing, and organizational skills, who enjoys learning new things and is willing to tackle both small and large tasks. You are technologically savvy, love analytics, and are willing to roll up your sleeves and dig into data – but it doesn’t stop there, you can effectively present the results of your research and do so in a confident, concise, and clear manner. You have the ability to independently prioritize a varied workload, balance multiple tasks and projects without missing deadlines, and work efficiently while generating high quality work product. What you'll do:

The position requires the ability to organize and manipulate financial data from various internal and external sources, maintain primary and secondary databases, create reports on credit union industry trends, and prepare written research findings for presentation and publication.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience with primary data collection and manipulation, creating and maintaining databases, conducting research and analysis, and creating reports and presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize a variety of computer software applications, including experience in SPSS and/or SAS.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and presentation skills.
  • Careful attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
