The Creative Director guides all projects and is responsible for the overall quality of work produced by the Creative department. This position serves as the company’s central point for creative service requests and leads a team of graphics, copywriters, and digital design staff. The position also collaborates with sales, marketing, account management, clinical, facilities and other departments to support a variety of design and communication needs for internal and external audiences.

Job Responsibilities

Oversee the corporate brand and visual image, ensuring the best representation of AllianceRx Walgreens
Prime to its key markets; maintain corporate brand standards and ensure company-wide adherence to branding in all projects; proactively communicate brand standards to employees on an on-going basis
Provide creative direction to deliver vision on-strategy, on-brand, and on-brief; lead creative review of marketing communications resulting in specific recommendations, and action plans to close gaps and address opportunities
Manage and provide strategic input to the Creative Services team; review all design projects to ensure quality and facilitate peer-reviews by team members
Provide art direction for print, digital, environmental and corporate collateral, including campaigns, direct mail, product communications, presentations, etc., to meet the marketing needs of AllianceRx Walgreens Prime
Provide proactive consultation and design services for marketing, product team and other internal clients for their creative service needs; ensure customer satisfaction by managing expectations and providing timely, quality work
Work collaboratively with parent company design departments, Walgreen Co. and Prime Therapeutics
Oversee production of multi-media content (future state)
Other responsibilities as judgment or necessity dictate

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development, oversight and implementation of departmental budget
Responsible for leading a team through teaching, coaching and inspiring by fostering a sense of energy, ownership and a responsibility for the flawless execution of operational excellence; engage in the selection and hiring process as needed

Required qualifications, skills and experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related area of study; or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience
7 years’ work experience in creative design
5-7 years of leadership / people management experience

Demonstrated ability to translate core business strategies into actionable initiatives
Ability to express ideas clearly both verbally and in writing, paired with strong listening skills
Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills with ability to gain leadership creditibilty across the organization to promote effective collaboration
Demonstrated ability to operate independently and drive company initiatives at senior management levels, including program and project management and strategy summaries
Proven track record of leadership capabilities including building morale, developing people, and creating positive team dynamics
Willing to travel up to 20% of time for business purposes

Master’s Degree in Design or related area of study
